Cliff joined the firm as a Partner in 2023. He has gained vast experience in banking and general litigation matters at a reputable law firm.
He has been practising in the areas of banking and finance litigation (islamic and conventional) involving, inter alia, cross-border financing, syndicated facilities, insolvencies and receivership as well as performance bonds. He has defended various actions against financial institutions involving issues of negligence, the tort of conspiracy, statutory/fiduciary duties and civil fraud.
His portfolio also includes commercial and corporate litigation, tort and defamation matters, intellectual properties as well as trust and confidence matters. Cliff has actively been involved in applying for or resisting various specific reliefs such as declaratory reliefs, injunctive reliefs and pre-action discovery applications.
With his vast knowledge and experience in commercial and corporate litigation, he has also been handling various types of corporate work such as advisory, documentation and agreements drafting for various clients in different types of businesses, such as online platforms, e-commerce retailers, products manufacturing, money services business, housing development, real estates, logistics etc.
Cliff is a graduate of the University of London and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2009. When not working on cases, he enjoys reading materials pertaining to Chinese history, always having been excited to learn about its events, culture, customs and traditions.
